What Summer Balm does

Summer Balm combines Bug Balm and Sun Balm in a single jar — the same botanical insect barrier at the entry points insects target (ankles, wrists, back of knees) plus UV protection for exposed skin. Apply once before going outside. Both threats covered for the session.

No DEET. No chemical spray. No separate application steps. Holds through sweat without reapplication on a standard 2–3 hour outdoor outing.

Why botanical instead of DEET

DEET works by saturating the air around you with a chemical repellent. It also dissolves plastics, synthetic fabrics, and finishes — which is why it feels harsh on skin. The botanical barrier in Summer Balm works differently: it creates a physical and scent-based deterrent at the skin surface without the solvent behavior.

Made under 150°F using a Steam-Sheltered Wax Machine. The botanical compounds that make the barrier function — the ones most commercial formulas cook out above 200°F — survive intact in every batch.
